Why we started Helping Hands

We started ONEwatertown Helping Hands because we saw a real need in our community. Too often, neighbors face challenges that seem small but become overwhelming — mowing the lawn, patching drywall, hauling away trash, or fixing a toilet. For some, it’s because of age, health, or limited resources. For others, life simply gets in the way. At the same time, Watertown is full of people who want to give back but don’t always know how.

ONEwatertown Helping Hands bridges that gap. It provides a simple, organized way for volunteers to step in so that those who need help can get it quickly, safely, and with dignity. This program is about more than just repairs or chores. ONEwatertown Helping Hands is about building a culture of neighbors helping neighbors, strengthening connections, and making sure Watertown is a place where no one feels left behind.
